What got you into skateboarding?

My older brother Tobi and his friends used to skate. It was in the early 2000s with the big THPS hype. I saw them and thought it was super cool. So, I tried and since that day couldn´t be separated from my board.

What is your skate scene like in your city?

It´s ok. Actually my city is like 2 cities separated by a river. It´s two different cities, but they kind of are together. Most skaters skate in the older part and go to a skatepark on the outskirts. I live in the other part of the river and don´t want to drive by car every day to skate for 1or 2 h. So I usually skate with the few guys living nearby or even on my own. Due to work I cannot skate all day long, so I prefer to make the most of it and skate close to where I live. On holidays I love traveling…

What is you to go trick to start your sesh?

Mhhh depends. Probably just cruising around if you consider that a trick. In flat shove its without pop or some mannys until I get feeling. If it´s a skatepark with transition I love doing some easy quarter tricks to warm up.

Do you feel skateboarding has changed your life? How?

Yeah, for sure. Due to skateboarding I have traveled a lot, lived in another country and met so many nice persons. That obviously changes your personality. Besides skateboarding taught me to go for it. That´s some skills I needed in many situations of my life such as studying in university,…

What pro skater inspires your skateboarding?

Hard to say. One on hand  like watching skaters who really flow around and just kind of float. On the other hand I enjoy watching creative and innovative skaters such as Daewon Song. I also love watching good manny and mini ramp skaters.

Do you prefer watching skate videos on social media or buying it? Why?

I honestly haven´t bought a video in a long time. I often don´t even realize when a new video released and when I realize, it´s already online. Social media clips are cool, but you usually only see the same kind of tricks. I feel like these big pages kind of say people subconsciously what they should post. When I have time I love watching a full length video with a cold beer or two.

What is the gnarliest trick you have ever done? How did you feel when you landed it?

Hard to say. Lately I was skating a lot of mini ramp and I landed a “dream combo”.  Fakie treflip noseblunt nollie backheel in. It worked out within 15 min and when I landed the trick I didn´t even realized that I just had landed my dream combo. I had to watch the clip like 3 times to understand what I just had done. Then I was just stoked and happy. Was a good day.

Tell us little bit about your local skate shop & what they do for skateboard scene?

I´ve been living here for only two years so I cannot tell you that much. There´s an old skate shops here, but they stopped supporting skaters and are totally into stand-up paddles now. They also opened a restaurant next to their shop, so the skate shop days are over. Last year a new shop (franchise thing) opened its doors here and they flow some local skaters, but that´s all.

What is your daily routine before you go shred?

Try to be in a good mood and hyped to skate. Usually I go skating after work and I´m actually tired. I try to use that and go straight when I arrive at home and still are kind of activated from work. Than after skating I chill for the first time. On holidays or on tour I just like to have a good breakfast, chill a bit and then go straight skating.

Any inspiring words you want to tell the next generation of skaters?

Skate for yourself and do whatever you want. Don´t try to impress or imitate others and even more important- Don´t listen if someone tells you that your tricks aren´t cool. You should do what feels good to you. Sometimes it´s cool to compare with others, but there´s always someone doing a determined trick better than you. So try to push yourself and be the best YOU.
