You have a new song called r.i.p. (dead 2 me), tell me a bit about the song and what inspired it?

R.I.P (dead 2 me) is a take on my toxic relationship with my father. I wanted to open up a little more about that relationship. I think holding things in is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. I want to let go of the pain and learn to heal, and one day if I can have a relationship with him, I would love that.

What is your creative process like? Do you have any rituals that you do to get into a creative space to write/record?

I get random ideas or concepts from street signs, movies, captions, or even other songs. I am always allowing myself to be open to any idea. I usually get song ideas while I am trying to sleep. I wrote “Eat Cake” around 2am while trying to go to sleep, the song just popped into my head. I like to physically write on paper with a pen but sometimes I just use voice memos or my notes app. Whenever I get ready to record, I like to be in comfortable clothes. It allows me to relax and just not feel constructed. I always have my water at room temperature, so it does not strain my voice. Then I let myself get into the song and get lost while recording.

If you could be any fictional character from a TV show or movie, who would you be and why?

Okay favorite question ever, I immediately thought of Katherine Pierce from Vampire Diaries. I would love to play the villain. I love the idea of being hated but loved by the audience. You love to hate the villain.

What does the rest of 2022 hold for you?

I want to heal from trauma and heal my body from my health issues. It is so important to allow yourself to break down. You cannot keep it together all the time even when you want to. Then after you feel ready grab the pieces and make yourself up again.
