If you could remix your single, “Z vs Z” with any rapper/emcee (currently living) who would it be and why?

Joyner Lucas! Simply because his three key elements of writing are lyricism, melody and “to go-off” while showcasing both the the upside and downside of things. I relate to that very much especially with “Z vs Z.”

What does a typical day for Zamaera look like?

Wake up, shower, breakfast, read a book (currently reading Mr.Nice by Howard Marks), reply to emails, breathing & vocal exercises, rehearsing my set for any upcoming shows, gym, writing lyrics (sometimes short stories and poems) and creating content for my social media.

When you were in the US recording, what was your favorite food to eat

Ooooooh this is a tough one. I loved everything! But if I had to choose, it would be The Dinner Special 5-piece wings with mac and cheese and mean green sides and a slice of freshly baked cornbread all for only 12 dollars from Comfort LA. And also, every food that I tried at The Original Farmer’s Market!

You’re a singer and an emcee, if you could throw some more hats on what would they be?

Some berets and a snapback! I actually used to be a presenter for a kid’s show on local tv, so I definitely see myself in the line of hosting again as well as acting!

Who is the last artist you listened to and what song was it?

Gucci Mane ft Bruno Mars & Kodak Black – Wake Up in The Sky (this song is my jam)

The reaction to “Z vs Z” has been phenomenal, were you at all surprised by the success of the track?

Yes, I was quite taken aback with the amount of positive support from both the regional and international audience. It’s quite gratifying when people get to experience the song the same way I experienced it.

Fast Five:

  • Favorite sport? – Basketball & Tennis
  • Last time you went to the beach? – April of last year):
  • Celebrity Crush? – Elon Musk
  • Did you do the Shiggy challenge? – Nope but I always do the Shimmy challenge 😀
  • Best compliment you’ve received? – “In the world of art, the levels are categorized through talent and revelation and trust me that what you possess is a gift from the gods.”

What’s next for Zamaera?

Focusing on building my live sets but I’m also very excited for the release of my very first

EP! Along with a tour perhaps? Stay tuned to find out!

What message do you want fans/listeners to take away from “Z vs Z”

The message of “Z vs Z” is within the song itself. However, the audience chooses to take it,

must be in accordance to to their own abstract thoughts and experiences. But the

underlying message it to always listen and think.

Is there another female emcee out of Malaysia we should keep our eyes on?
