On Friday, November 17th TSM Media attended Tony Hawk’s Skatepark Project Gala hosted by Jack Black at the iconic Chateau Marmont in Hollywood,CA.

The Skatepark Project helps underserved communities build high quality public skateparks for youth to enjoy, while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Since its creation in 2002, the Skatepark Project has awarded over $10-million to over 600 public skatepark projects in all 50 US States, and approx $150,000 to support the Skateistan program in Afghanistan, Cambodia, and South Africa.

Through the Skatepark Project, youth are given an opportunity to connect to likeminded individuals to participate in a creative and physical activity that we know as skateboarding.
Skateboarding helps our youth by providing a positive physical and mental outlet to express themselves, connect with others in and outside their communities, and most importantly have fun.

This years Gala, was chock full of celebrities and professional athletes alike. The evening started out with cocktails, followed by dinner, and an impressive auction. After the formal events there was an amazing after party in one of the bungalows on the Chateau’s property. Overall it was a fabulous night of celebrating a remarkable organization that makes the world a better place, one skatepark at a time. – MS
