Skateboard Podcast

Imagine if you will,  a world where Cephas and Donovan lived in the greater Los Angeles area and had unlimited access to guests and sponsors.  But I digress,  sadly, although I do sometimes enjoy the 9 club, it is the current most popular skateboarding podcast. In a world where there is a podcast for every sport, interest,  deviant behavior or pop culture fad, you are living under a rock if you haven’t heard, watched or know what a podcast is. I do have interests outside of skateboarding,  but this is a online skateboarding magazine (and occasionally a Skateboard Talk Show ), so we will just stick to those for now. What the fuck am I even doing,  do people read anything that is longer than a hashtag or a caption anymore,  I am amazed that Thrasher is still wasting money actually printing a magazine,  Transworld quit a long time ago and not just because their name would be considered hate speech nowadays..

Oh yeah,  podcasts,  as mentioned above, the 9 club is the most popular in this niche market because they have an editor to take out the boring shit and multiple cameras to switch back and forth and make it more watchable for the YouTube viewers,  the other streaming platform listeners are bombarded every once in a while with Chris Roberts reading an add for on of the pods sponsors.  His delivery on the adds in a way mirrors his delivery and line of questioning or should I say suggesting of topics to discuss,  top this off with the non-stop laughing of Kelly Hart who besides his uncanny ability to remember every trick from every video could be replaced by a laugh track equating to one less salary to pay. The plus side of this pod is their connections that allow them a seemingly endless pool of potential guests,  although they do repeat a few. To further my point that the skateboarding podcast has a niche market, the episode with the most views is arguably Lil Wayne, who is a skateboarder kinda,  he obviously loves it as he compares it to sex with multiple partners at the same time and says it’s better than that. But anyway in my opinion the inflated view count on this episode is obviously from people searching Lil Wayne or maybe even his fans that heard he skates,  not skateboarding.

Now the serious skater that wants to listen to people talk about skateboarding other than right here at TSM Media, tune into the Bunt, the Bunt doesn’t pull any punches with their questions or with their popular rapid fire questions near the end of each interview,  they ask the questions that we all wish Chris and company would ask.  Get these guys on YouTube and more sponsors as well as access to more guests so they can quit their day jobs, they could very well be the best thing to happen to skateboarding since Andy Anderson.  Only because I don’t have the time to throw my hat into the podcast ring. If I did,  it would certainly be the standard by which all others were judged.

An honorable mention or two should always include NINJALIFESTYLE  non skating Stop Crying Poser podcast just because Ninja is a skate media pioneer that deserves credit for paving the road for countless others. (for another time)

Also Monday Mass with Chris Cote & Todd Richards should be included just because Todd is a skater first as well as a snowboarding legend.

If you made it this far, I apologize for putting you through what is basically just my opinion on a very limited list of what is out there for skateboarding media enjoyers. Until next time – P.i.s.s
