Music Box: Dead Levee

Dead Levee

Tell us about your new single, “Nothing Good Comes Easy”.

Nothing Good Comes Easy is a redemption song about the highs and lows. How one cannot exist without the other so one must persevere and overcome their adversities.

Is there a lyric you would like to highlight?

When it rains you got to dance” is so true in the world we live in. You cannot let the bad bring you down or overpower the good.

How did Dead Levee as a project first come together?

Dead Levee came from a few groups falling apart and being put together in the proper order in the Regina, Saskatchewan area. All the members with the right drive and a more concise musical vision in those groups found each other.  From there, we were off to the races.

Describe your sound in three words.

Dead Levee is no nonsense Rock and Roll.

What inspired your forthcoming EP, Rise Up?

All the trials and tribulations everyone has faced in the last 2 years and how we as a whole need to rise above it.

Who did you work with on the record?

We had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with a talented team on this record. Including Executive Producer Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Nickelback, Alice Cooper), Mixing Engineer Kevin Dietz (The Glorious Sons, JJ Wilde) and Mastering Engineer Noah Mintz (Arkells, Death from Above 1979, Matt Mays).

What has been the biggest change in your lives over the past year?

A new outlook on everything. Nothing is being taken for granted after everything has been taken away, turned upside-down, and given back.

Where would you perform tomorrow if you could anywhere in the world?

If we could perform anywhere tomorrow, a dream venue would be a sold-out Madison Square Garden.

What is next for you?

Play the contemporary music as much as possible live. And get the follow-up together.
