When did skateboarding change your life?

When I saw “Heavy Metal” by Toy Machine – the slam section. 1995. I thought, “this is what I want to do”.

What is your favorite trick and why?

Not to be a smartass but rolling – if that’s considered a trick. It’s the best feeling.

With skateboarding in the Olympics, do you think skateboarding can prostitute itself or to lose the true essence?

It is what it is, I don’t give a fuck.

When was the first time you won a skateboard contest and how did you feel?

I’ve never won a contest, only gotten second.

Skateboarding and music are very connected with each other, what do you like to listen to while skateboarding?

All music on the boom box. Drats, Anything Box, Run for Your Fucking Life, Oingo Boingo, Tears for Fears, The Faction, @The Fountain of Youth, Mobb Deep.

2pac – “Can yuh feel me?!”.

Do you prefer to shred in the streets or in skateparks? Why?

Streets. Because there’s shit everywhere, that’s insane. Why would you want to be a cage? San Diego, downtown.

Have you ever thought about giving up skateboarding? Why?

No.

What inspires you to shred every day? Fame or just fun?

Friends, then fun. Dennis Busenitz, Heath Kirchart, Sk8 Mafia.

Tommy Cantrell, Marc Shockus Delellis, P-stone, Danny Gonzales, Jake Phelps, – RIP. That’s what inspires me every day, every second.

What is your daily routine before you shred?

Currently, call the homies Dan C., Alexis R., Nick S., Andy Mack, Mikey, Wes K., Jessen. Try to get a session/where to meet.

Any inspiring words you want to tell the next generation of skaters?

Don’t worry about who did what trick, do it anyway. And don’t worry about what people think about you.
