What got you into skateboarding?

So most of my homies I chilled with at the time lived on the same block as me and I went down the street one day to see what they were up to. They all had skateboards and were doing ollies off curbs and no pop nose stalls, tricks like that. I was like, well this shit is cool, I want to do that! And it was all downhill from there ha-ha been skating since!

What is your skate scene like in your city?

Very diverse. We have skaters everywhere now compared to when I was a younger buck. I love it though! We have more parks then ever but very limited on skateshops unfortunately.

What is your to go trick to start your sesh?

Depends on the spot but I start light with beginner tricks and then I step it up once I’m warm. If its flatground then tre flips, if rails then front 50s and smith,  ledges gonna be nosegrind, and manny pads the go to is nose mannys.

Do you feel skateboarding has changed your life? How?

Oh most definitely! Lord knows I’d be doing some dumb shit if I wasn’t into skateboarding. I was STEADY in and out of jail when I was younger but without the board I’d probably still be in there all the time. I’m blessed to find skateboarding, straight up.

What pro skater inspires your skateboarding?

My all time fav is Geoff Rowley, he inspires me still til this day. My second skater up is Tiago Lemos because c’mon now, pop god AND switch god!

Do you prefer watching skate videos on social media or buying it? Why?

I’d rather buy it and watch it whenever I please, but social media is hella convenient for a quick hype. BUT BRO what if the internet is down!?

What is the gnarliest trick you have ever done? How did you feel when you landed it?

Probably tre flip embassy gap because I was so young while hucking it. But I have a few tricks in my recent part I’m working on that I’m proud of due to the beatings I took. Also my kickflip 50 on Bradley hubba was a milestone for me. These are San Antonio spots by the way.

Tell us little bit about your local skate shop & what they do for skateboard scene?

Right now Alta Vista is my local shop. They’re the only shop I can go into and feel comfortable at like Goodtimes Skateshop was back in the day. They hold my company decks in there and they stay showing love by throwing video premieres and comps there. If you’re in San Antonio go stop and shop with them!!

What is your daily routine before you go shred?

Get up, say amen, hit up the homies, eat, make sure the fam is straight for the day, smoke a jernt and watch a video of course. Then STRETCH and get them clips!

Any inspiring words you want to tell the next generation of skaters?

Never give up doing what you love, because it will take you far if you’re dedicated to it! Doing what you love will help you cope with any situation you’re in. I vent by skateboarding. I’ve been doing it for 20 years and I still get hyped to go out like it was my first week of skateboarding.
