What got you into skateboarding?

My dad managed and built a local BMX track/skatepark for the city of Fort Walton Beach for 13 or 14 years of my childhood. It was called Emerald Coast Dirt and Vert. RIP.

What is your skate scene like in your city?

The skate scene out here is small but everyone here is rad and just shares a similar love for skateboarding. Shout out Plus Skate shop! If it were not for them, then our skate scene would probably not exist. They have been holding it down in this little beach town for almost 35 years.

What are you’re to-go trick to start your sesh?

Flat ground kickflip? Maybe?? It probably is a different trick every time I step on the board.

Do you feel skateboarding has changed your life? How?

Of course. I have my current job and roommate because of skateboarding. We are all one big family in skating.

What pro skater inspires your skateboarding?

Tons of pros. Ishod, Manderson, Niels Bennett, Evan smith. the list goes on.

Do you prefer watching skate videos on social media or buying them? Why?

I would rather buy a video that someone spent days, weeks, months to produce rather than watching someone’s park clips they got that day. Some people need to put their phones down and just skate.

What is the gnarliest trick you have ever done? How did you feel when you landed it?

My buddy Mitchell Meuser and I were driving from Spokane, WA to San Francisco and had stopped in Eugene to check out some spots and we went to a school with this famous four-flat eight kinked rail. I was not planning on skating it, but I ended up bs 5050ing the damn thing. That felt crazy to roll away from.

Tell us a little bit about your local skate shop & what they do for the skateboard scene?

Plus Skate shop caters heavily to our local scene by having one of the best shops in the country. I worked there for 4 years, and people often said it was the best skate shop they had ever been to.

What is your daily routine before you go shred?

Usually, it begins with coffee/breakfast and a spliff to get the mind right. Oh, and stretching is important too.

Any inspiring words you want to tell the next generation of skaters?

Do not worry about what other people are doing, wearing, saying, or whatever it may be. Focus on bettering yourself and creating a fun environment for others to be a part of. Skateboarding is the best thing ever!
