Torx bolts (also known as star bolts) are very durable and were created to be able to be torqued more than Phillips and Allen key without stripping. You will commonly see Torx head hardware used in aircraft, motorcycles, firearms, and many other industries that require strong and durable hardware. This type of durability allows them to be used over and over again, unlike Phillips and Allen key hardware. Believe it or not, Phillip’s head was actually created to strip so they would not be over-tightened. Don’t you want your hardware to be as tight as possible?
