“The Skater-prenuers of the DMV” is a film that takes a look at the skateboarding scene in the DMV area and the entrepreneurial women who are using their creative passions and businesses to enrich the skate scene for the next generation of skaters. The film is made up of 6 chapters.
Each chapter is a glimpse into the life of a female entrepreneur/skateboarder based in the DMV. Each chapter explains how they found skateboarding, what it means to them, what role skateboarding plays in their life, and how their business* (some are side hustles, main jobs, nonprofit passion projects, etc) ties in with skateboarding & encourages the growth of skateboarding.
This film premiered in September at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC as part of a summer Culture Caucus event.
