How did you produce the name The Dionysus Effect?
When Sean and I are working on a song I would always be like that needs more Dionysus energy. Less Apollo more Dionysus. I am sure it got annoying at times with Sean but one day when we decided to turn the project into a band, he said we should call it The Dionysus Effect
Tell me about your new single “Darryl”. What inspired the song?+
My day is job is editing and publishing. My publishing company put out this book called Darryl about a cuckold that has become a cult phenomenon. Greatest social media exchange ever because it inspired a song I love and now I am publishing Eve 6’s memoir

Sean and I have known each other for a while but the band did not really get going till 2020. I had worked on Brett’s book and learned he was really good at drums. We started practicing as a rhythm section and then Sean jammed with us, and the band truly formed. We are a covid-formed band with our basement keeping us sane
Who are your biggest inspirations?

New School: Spoon, Hole, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Gay Blades, Queens of the Stone Ages and of course Mark Lanegan which I am still heartbroken about. Mark will always be one of my favorite singers

Who is on repeat in your playlists right now?
A band I keep going back to is FIDLAR, they are simply great songwriters. I love how they have poppy hooks but still a nice edge.
What are your plans for upcoming music? Any shows?
Yes! It feels so good to say we will have shown. We have one at Desperate Annie’s on April 18th with TheWorst. We want to get some more local shows and NYC shows under our belt and then would love to tour in the Fall to promote the upcoming album.
