Where are you /your band from?

We are from Sweden, Stockholm

What type of music did you hear the most growing up?

I grew up with a lot of mixed music, Don Mclean, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Cat Stevens, ABBA, MTV music videos – my sister and brother always danced and sang along to the songs.
But when I was about thirteen years old I got more involved with music by myself, I remember that Janis Joplin was one of my first favorites.

What made you first realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?

I’ve always loved listening to music and I just felt that I wanted to give back what music has given me. All these great artists and songwriters have inspired me a lot and one day I decided to write my own songs.

What sets you apart from other bands/artists today?

I don’t reflect about that, I just want to keep on writing songs and play music.

For those who have never seen or heard your music before, how would you describe your music for the public audience?

I’m very influenced by American folk-music/blues and rock. But I like to listen to everything if it’s soulful music.

If you had to categorize your music, what genre would it best fit?

As a Singer/songwriter I don’t prefer to put my music into a specific genre. When I first started to write my own songs, I was into folk music, but I always want to challenge myself and try new things. Today I’ve got a band and I want to write different things all the time. But It’s up to the listeners what they want to pick out from my songs.

Are there any stories surrounding your songs that you’d care to share?

I just write about everything that comes to my mind, people, experiences, stories. it’s a way for me to express emotions.

What do you do with your time away from music?

I like to read books/poems to get more inspired, go and see a movie, hang out with friends, listen to live-gigs. Sometimes you need to rest from writing and do something else, or else you’d go crazy. But its hard cause music is always in my head, wherever I go. Sometimes I don’t know if it’s a blessing or a curse.

Any upcoming shows/tours/news?

I hope to play many live gigs soon, but now I only have a few gigs booked here in Stockholm. – MB
