How old are you? Where are you from? Where do you stay?
I’m 25. I am from Springfield Missouri and that’s where I’m staying at the moment.
What do you do for a living?
I model, work at a retail store and I’m also a student.
How did you get into skating?
I got into skating when I was around 12 years old from my younger brother. He started skating so I always did everything that he did and I fell in love with it.
How do you mesh together with the modeling career and skateboarding?
Sometimes I will have jobs where they want me to skate but usually, they are kept separate.
Have you ever been too bruised up to do a shoot?
I have had to postpone a trip before because I broke my wrist but other than that they use to use makeup and photoshop.
Favorite spot to skate?
Probably my home park here in Springfield but I also like skating all the parks in Colorado. I have fun skating anywhere really.
What is one goal you have yet to accomplish for yourself?
I would like to finish school and travel more
Your favorite skater?
That’s a hard one, probably John Cardiel or Jeff Phillips
Do you ever get hate from the skate community?
If so, how do you deal with it? Yes, people have the right to say whatever they want but unfortunately, we live in a time of “social media” where people feel like they are obligated to go out of their way to try and ruin someone’s day, especially when they are a coward hiding behind a fake profile. To me, real skateboarders look out for each other and pick each other up not kick each other down, especially since we spend most of the time falling and getting up to try again. Thankfully I have a lot of really cool and supportive people so I guess the good outweighs the bad.
Any advice?
Shout outs? My advice would be doing what you like to do and you shouldn’t care about what other people think. Shoutout to my friends and family, and my agency Stil model management. – JD
