You recently release a new single “Feeling Bad”, can you tell us a little about in inspiration?
Feeling Bad was inspired by my absolute horrific taste in men and in my own self-destruction. It speaks of using those whom you know are bad for you and honestly not giving a shit because they’re just a way of numbing issues that you as an individual need to address with yourself. It’s saying a big fuck you to all the men that waste your time, make false promises, etc., that think they’re the ones playing you when you’re just using them too.
Is this a single part of a bigger project, an EP maybe?
This track was a bit of an experiment, trying out different sounds and seeing what comes from it. For now, it is just a single, but I think it has definitely inspired a sound I’d like to play with more. I would also like to push my Vocals more and what see magic unfolds.
If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be? And why?
Oooooh, tough question! I would love to Collab with so many artists because each makes me feel different things but I think any artist that would’ve been an absolute dream would be Robert Johnson, I’ve always loved the Blues and when I listen to his music it just makes me feel so good. He’s for sure an artist I wish we could bring back and one I would kill to learn from!
You just moved to Berlin; how does it feel?
It’s terrifying yo! I came here with my dog and a dream and although it’s been so hard with many downs, it’s certainly picking up. Who said making dreams come true was easy?
Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
In California, playing to thousands!
What’s next for Bijou Bijou?
If that isn’t the question of the month, I don’t know what it is! I have a track coming out with Denz within the next two months, it’s a lot more dance-inspired but still cuts you deep. Looking to upload covers and line up some shows! The next two months are going to be crazy and I’m both terrified and excited. – Vic
