Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Sweden but my family and I are from Serbia.

What type of music did you hear the most growing up

I remember my dad used to listen a lot to disco hits from the 90s & electronic music. I remember us jamming together in the car every time we had a chance as a child, dark electronic music has a dear place in heart and constantly inspires me til this day. I also have this totally different side of me which originates from my roots. Ever since I was born i’ve been listening to Serbian music, but a few years of my teenager life I was completely dedicated to only Serbian turbo folk music. Listening to Serbian music always makes me feel like home even though Im miles away from home today.

What made you first realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?

Ive always had this crazy drive to create art/music. When I was little I always gathered my family together and preformed for them, lip syncing to songs on MTV, constantly singing, writing lyrics and improvised with melodies. My dad saw this in me very early and always told me “you going to be my superstar” and made sure to put me in choirs and private lessons. Since then ive known im going to be an artist.

What sets you apart from other bands/artists today?

I think what makes me different from other artist is that I don’t only write songs and produce music. Poetry, film, imagery & my life experiences has been what inspires me to write my song. Everything I write has a visual story and I always make sure I incorporate that with my music and give the listener a different experience then what they normally get from other artist. I love to give a lot of myself to the listener, expose my deepest secrets and darkest fantasies through provocative images & lyrics.

For those who have never seen or heard your music before, how would you describe your music for the public audience?

I would say my music is very dark. I am in love with deep heavy sounds and beautifully fatal lyrics. Its hard for me to put myself in one genre, I like to make it crazy.

If you had to categorize your music, what genre would it best fit?

A blend of trip hop & electro rock.

Are there any stories surrounding your songs that you’d care to share?

My visual EP “The black rose” (releasing May 25th) is my truth and is very dear to my heart. I wanted to release my biggest struggles and experiences to the world for me to make peace with it.

What do you do with your time away from music?

As strong my love is for music, I have the same amount of love for fashion. I design my own jacket collection at the moment but one day I also see myself as a fashion designer, designing haute couture.

Any upcoming shows/tours/news?

My visual EP release event will take place in downtown LA May 25th, stay tuned for more info! – MB
