When did skateboarding change your life?

Skateboard changed my life when I was 12 years old. My dad bought me my first board (world industries) and ever since then it’s been in my blood.

What is your favorite trick and why?

Anyone that knows me knows that backside flips are my go-to. I go from Ollie to backslide flip to get used to a spot.

With skateboarding in the Olympics, do you think skateboarding can prostitute itself or to lose the true essence?

I’m kind of torn on skating being in the Olympics. On one hand, it’s huge exposure for skating but then, on the other hand, it could lose its roots and become super mainstream…

When was the first time you won a skateboard contest & how did you feel?

The first contest I ever won was when I was 16 years old and it was the “king of the parks” held by my hometown shop 7twenty Board shop. It was a great feeling ever and made me want to progress more so I could skate bigger contests in the future!

Skateboarding and music are very connected to each other, what do you like to listen to while skateboarding?

It depends on what I’m skating if I’m at a ledge or a manny pad spot it’s rap music all day. When it comes to stairs or gaps I’m listening to metal to get the blood and adrenaline going haha.

Do you prefer to shred in the streets or skateparks? Why?

I’m pretty equal on both.. I love the vibe that the streets give off but on the other hand I love skating competitions so skateparks will always be fun to me.

Have you ever thought about giving up skateboarding? Why?

There have been times that I’ve wanted to quit just being I wasn’t learning new things and felt like I’ve hit my peak. Then times got hard and skating has always had my back and put my head back on straight.

What inspires you to shred and evolve every day? fame or just fun?

Honestly, fame would be dope and all but that’s not what drives me. What drives me is getting the homies together and just having a great time learning new things together.

What is your daily routine before you go shred?

My daily routine when it comes to skating is getting some good food then some caffeine haha. Once we get to a spot it’s stretching and finding a good playlist to skate too.

Any inspiring words you want to tell the next generation of skaters?

My biggest piece of advice would be never giving up. Skating is a huge mental game and if you let it beat you then you’re doomed. The quote I always live by is “you never fail until you stop trying”- Albert Einstein.
